Recreating Community Together 2025
Recreating Community Together is a year-long program that helps people in Saskatchewan understand different culture and address racism. The program includes school programs, artist training, community events, and an arts and change conference. All public events are free of charge.
Recreating Community Together has grown out of a partnership between Dance Saskatchewan and On Cue Performance Hub that began as Dancing Together in the fall of 2022. That year it included workshops by dance artists in schools all over Saskatchewan, an online symposium, and an event on March 21, the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. It was a great success, and has been growing each year, and more partnerships have been made.
This year, along with our partners, including On Cue Performance Hub, Multicultural Council of Saskatchewan, Saskatchewan Arts Alliance, Common Weal, and RRLIP (Regina Region Local Immigration Partnership) we are continuing what we started in the schools, and presenting an event on March 21, which will be a performance and conversation about racism. a film screening of “From the Margins to the Centre” on March 22, and an Arts for Change Conference in April, which will be online and in person.
